"You're right, it's not." The voice came from behind, attached to a tall British woman. She'd seen him appear - land, however you wished to call it and had been quick to move from the side of the diamond, crossing the pitch until she'd reached him and had managed to catch the last of his complaint.

"Needless to say it is quite real, as unfortunate as that may be." Helen gave him an apologetic smile. This could be a long day for them.

"That I cannot say. Some have returned home after dying, others simply are no longer here." She'd done the first one and hoped for it to not happen again.

"Not all powers are offensive in nature." Longevity, for example. "The siren alerts you as to when darkness is falling. The creatures are known as Darkness Monsters, creatures which are highly dangerous. The only safety from them is to remain indoors."

"Dying? You mean, people die then return here?" Focus Jack, that's not the best thing to dwell on.

But the not all powers are offensive thing he had to hold back a snappy response. Well no duh lady, flying wasn't an offensive power, but the point stuck. It was good to know that at least. "You say dangerous, but there's no way to fight them? Guns or powers or anything don't do a thing?"

"They have in the past." She tries not to either, with varying success.

"They can but at great risk. These creatures oft gather into packs - you may see one and quickly be faced with three or four more." Also has happened to her. Teaching others how to learn from her mistakes whilst still making them.

"Wow...that's...that's just..." He wasn't sure what to say to that really.

"Oh so, kind of like bee's or wolves?" Or squirrels sometimes, you never knew where another one was. But at least she was telling him these things, not like it would ever stop him if someone needed help but it was better then nothing.

"Actually no." Wolves were closer but they weren't quite the right kind of creature. "They're actually not comparable to animals." And not something you wanted to simply run into, either.

"Then what are they if not some sort of animal?" Did he even want to know? Probably not but he did just ask so he's just, waiting.

"What image does the word 'monster' bring to mind?" And she hoped in more creature based terms rather than the human description of monster.
