She could only keep moving, stopping long enough for them to catch their breath, but avoiding alleyways and corners were they could potentially be trapped. The boy may have been a petty thief, and was basically a liability now, but she wasn't about to leave him to die.
Eventually could hear Daniel calling for her, but it was distant, and she knew that damn thing was still behind her.
"... DANIEL!"
Screw it. She couldn't deal with this thing alone.

"Marryhadalittlelamp littlelamp littlelamp. Marryhadalittlelamp whosefleecewaswhiteassnow!" The energy burst from his hands, sending him flying through the air and towards the sound of her voice. He landed on his feet, having caught a glimpse of her up ahead. He did it again, rocketing through the air. Once once he reached a certain distance his powers cut out, sending him falling to the ground. He landed fine, luckily, but had to run the rest of the way.
"MINAKO! OVER HERE!"

"We have to get somewhere--!"
All at once she skidded to a halt, though, as the blob-like creature slithered along the ground and stopped in between where they stood. Minako stumbled away, but kept her balance despite her obvious fear. Her charge, however, was much less graceful and landed right on his ass.
"I-I can't keep runnin' from this thing like this!" he cried out, turning a pleading look on his captor. "You put me in this! You gotta get me out of it!"
Minako didn't bother arguing the point and bent down to try to wrestle with the chains again. The creature was more focused on her right then, but there was a chance it could be easily distracted.

"W-What the hell?! Why aren't my powers working?! Damn it!" He pulled out his gun and aimed at the monster. He squared himself and fired, the bullets flying inside the monster but they didn't seem to do much other than draw it's attention.
"Son of a bitch..."

Minako was dragged to her feet and pulled along, but she couldn't stop her panic. She had never seen some one die before, let alone get devoured in front of her. The feel of blood on her skin... it was still warm, sticky, wrong.
"No no no no no..." she was chanting under her breath as Daniel tried to get her out of there.

She had started sobbing at some point, but it didn't stop her from moving. Tears rolled down her cheeks rapidly, vision blurring. She tightened her grip on Daniel's hand since it was the only way to keep from losing him.

He caught sight of it moving outside the door, the silhouette of that horrible monster. How could something like that go unnoticed for so long? And why was it here now? It moved outside, ducking and dodging before seeming to give up and slink away into the night. Oh damn it all. That...that was terrifying.

She wouldn't sleep, even though she was exhausted. She couldn't stop crying, even though her eyes burned and her head ached. She could only wait with him until the sun rose again, and hope that the creature would vanish with the light...
