Warnings: Talk of suicide limitedrun December 16 2011, 08:18:23 UTC
[He looks exactly the same. Same dark clothes, same uncontrollable hair, same scars. It's Griffin in every way. He’s in a house, unfamiliar to anyone in Siren’s Port. It would be very homey if it weren’t for the upturned furniture and broken glass. There is a large, fresh puddle of blood staining the carpet. To the viewer’s left, there is a doorway to the kitchen. Another, larger puddle of blood is spreading over the tile. If one looks close enough, they can see pictures hanging on the walls in the background. An in shape but balding man, a very pretty, chesnut-haired woman, and an awkward, big-eared boy. The latter is clearly Griffin at a young age. This is his childhood home, or at least one of them. He's sitting in a stuffed rocking chair, his hands folded, fingertips pressed to his mouth. His head is bowed. He looks like he's about to give some bad news.

Then he looks directly into the camera. And with a tilt of his head, he smiles. It's sharp and wicked, too toothy and just wrong.]

Oh, hello. I didn't see you there. [He gets to ( ... )

[Oh maaaan. Chuck doesn't know that he necessarily has the right to shove his head in here, but he calls anyway, just to make sure. After a few unsuccessful phone calls, he texts.]

Hey man, you're not doing something stupid, are you?

[Does accidentally unleashing Darkness on a crowd of unsuspecting drunkards count as something stupid?

Either way, Griffin isn't answering for anyone, not even after the fight. The idea of facing anyone after this... He can't do it.]

[Well TOO BAD because he'll keep periodically texting Griffin for a couple days after this until the little twerp answers.]

[He caves in on Sunday morning. Sort of.]

Text me again and I'll break your fingers.

Hey, you're alive. Cool.

Consider this the last text. Definitely no finger-breaking required.

[ Whenever Griffin gets around to checking his NV, there'll be a message, timestamped just a few minutes after his segment aired. ]

TV's so lame these days.

[It's not until the next day that he even bothers looking at the thing. He knows there's going to be messages. He has to summon the courage just to read the texts. But he does read them all, eventually.

He isn't sure what to do with Carrie these days. She's older, she's not the same. But this is so very her and his lips twitch briefly. It's not a smile, but it's not nothing.

Griffin still won't respond. What is he supposed to say?]

[ Why what a coincidence! It's not until the next day that she decides she's given him enough time, and a visit is in order. She masks the NV-tracking pings pretty well, operating on know-how from 2033. She doesn't plan to provide any warning, just in case he's feeling Jumpy. ]

[He's leaving a clinic. Griffin got banged up in last night's fight, but he's determined to walk away. It didn't get him. It can't hurt him. It's not him.

He tucks his NV into his jacket pocket and walks. Griffin doesn't know where he's going. He doesn't have anywhere to go.]

[ She blends in way better these days. Perfectly normal clothing, no big shades, and platinum blonde that could belong to any woman. She also walks almost silently, when she wants to. So it doesn't take her long to get in close enough to slip an arm through Griffin's, and she does it entirely casually. ]

You're pretty easy to find, for a teleporter.

[Griffin is really on edge at the moment and still dying to hurt something. Sneaking up on him is the worst way to approach him right now.

He strikes very quickly. He grabs the arm and goes to twist it, almost to the breaking point, but not quite.]

[ Well, she definitely miscalculated that one. Has she forgotten his levels of paranoia, or is this just way higher than usual? She can't really be sure. But either way, her reflexes have only gotten faster. She doesn't hesitate to move along with the twist, to keep the pain at a minimum, and with an expression unchanged from that default blankness, sweeps out a low kick, aimed to knock him off his footing. ]

[Griffin jumps up to avoid being tripped, but he has to let go of her arm in the process.]

If you're looking for a fight, you picked the wr--

[It finally hits him, it's Carrie he's attacking, and oh God, oh God, it's right, all he does is hurt his friends, what is the matter with him--]

Did you want me to break your arm? What do you want?

[ She breaks off the instant he does, straightening and not letting herself rub her arm. That'll be sore for a while, but she'll live. She pockets both hands in her jacket, just watching him for a few seconds. ]

I wanted to see you.

[He crosses his arms over his chest, one hand resting on his shoulder before coming back down. Griffin's pissed, he's hurt, and most of all, he's vulnerable.]

If this is about last night, don't even bother. I took care of the fake.
