[He's out under the trees, his sword across his knees, the wind blowing through his hair.]

I am glad to see you well and to hear that you took the test. It will be very important to all of us.

[He shrugs.] Well, it seemed like the thing to do. I actually missed a couple questions, but that was probably because I still wasn't feeling great that day. I still passed really easily.

Hm. Excuse me a second.

[He goes off screen for moment, but after a few seconds his voice drifts across the room.] Darn. I guess I already ate those.

[And he's back.] Anyway, I just woke up feeling really good today. Finally eating normally and everything. I wasn't having that much the past while.

[An arched eyebrow. Mostly, he's amused.]

No one was expected to do perfectly. Do you know why you were so depressed?

[Yep, he's back to being unintentionally adorable, now.] I'm just used to getting perfect scores, I guess.

[He shakes his head at the question.] No, I'm still not sure.

I find it unusual that such a thing randomly happened.

[His happy expression shifts into something more thoughtful.] That is kinda strange, isn't it?

It is. I was worried that magic of some sort had been used.

[Yes, worried about you. Feel privileged, you're the first person he's said that about.]

[Awwww. Actually, he feels kinda bad that he caused anyone to worry about him. Because he's like that.]

I dunno. I don't remember anything being cast on me . . .

Not all magic need be cast, but can be set as a trap. One that you wouldn't know was there, until it was too late.

Hm. Well, I don't know too much about magic, really; it doesn't seem to be that common at home. The stuff you saw me do that one time is different.

I have been remembering the magics from home and cannot think of a single one that would react in such a way.

The only conclusion is that it might be from a world neither of us is familiar with.
