[ The sounds of some scuffling can be heard amidst the static and some frustrated under-the-breath mumbling. After a couple seconds it clears up, but only a little. ]

-- what? Why do I have to press that? Do I-- [ ... sigh ... ] No, can’t I just- Is there a menu, maybe--

[ Some more muttering; Angel’s busy flipping his NV around and trying to ( Read more... )

I apologise for the lack of a better welcome, there have been some problems regarding the Greeting system. [ One thing would be under staffing, another would be the politics ] Regardless, you're in a place known as Siren's Port, a 'hidden' area located in Canada.

Off the maps? Or hidden some other way?

It would appear to be both - there are no known ways of leaving, or entering without being brought here. The Core is what brought you here - I am unaware of much of it, as are many of the other residents that have been brought here. It seems to be much of a mystery.

Anyone here have any idea what it is?

Those that have been here for longer may have some idea but not a complete one - it is well protected and hard to gain access to, though I have not heard of recent attempts to.

Can't imagine any attempts to figure it out going that well.

Without possibly siding with an interested party, I doubt so. Have you heard of both SERO and AGI?

Heard about the experimentation and slavery, if the information I got was right. Anything else I need to know?

Unfortunately it is. Both SERO and AGI have their own powers, and it isn't unknown that they attempt - or even gain with little attempt support from those that arrive here. Although with the effects of being brought that could be even more dangerous than it first sounds.

What do you mean- the effects of being brought here?

The implications of being here go further than simply being held captive. Somehow, during transportation or perhaps before we awaken, our genetics become altered. It would appear that everyone here - either prior to their arrival or because of being brought to Siren's Port has some form of an ability.

What kind of abilities? Because if you mean being able to sing really well, or knowing how to write poetry- I know a few guys who could use those.

Unfortunately I am not referring to those abilities but rather ones of a genetic nature. There are various forms of abilities - or perhaps powers if you will, some that are damaging in nature, others that are helpful and some that are benign. For those that already have abilities when they arrive? Those remain in tact.

I should mention that not everyone in Siren's Port is human.

[ Angel's just... taking this all in. ]

Yeah, I noticed. About the beings other than humans thing, I mean.

Then you're taking this better than many others have.

It's not much different from home. Except for the part where i'm a couple hundred miles away from anything even remotely resembling it.
