[ So it's been a couple of days since Hattie had arrived in the Port. It seemed she was still settling herself into routine, but Ella was still wary. She would have to be more careful - it's one thing to bluff her way around an accidental command, but Hattie knew. ]
Ah - I meant to say something sooner but ... [ She's ... been busy. ] Well some of you know by now, but my stepsister Hattie is here in the Port now. [ She sounds so -happy- about that doesn't she? No, no she doesn't. ]
I just wanted to thank you for making her feel welcome here. I know thanks aren't really needed, but I'm not about to let a gesture of kindness go without saying anything. So - thank you.
