[ When the feed turns on, an image of Piper, with patches of dirt (better than blood) on her pink button-up shirt, can be seen flicking the SERO and AGI pamphlets across the room. Her hand goes to her back where she rubs it, feeling particularly sore in that area - due to being thrown into a wall back home before being brought here, but Piper ( Read more... )

Unfortunately this is no game, and those whom you are speaking to via this device have had no hand in this. I was brought here several weeks ago as you now have been. All of this may be hard to take in, particularly at first, but I am willing to explain it to you - as helpful as the pamphlets may seem they lack in helping you to truly understand.

Okay, so what's the first step to truly understanding? Because all I've got is the Core and the Darkness and both seem like they really suck.

That would depend on your belief of what there is here. The Darkness is real - monsters which appear only in the dark. Although many worlds have creatures similar to these, none would appear so far as to be entirely the same.

The Core is the name of what brought you here. There are few, if any, who know much about it - even SERO and AGI seem to still be studying it and know little about those that it brings or the manner in which it brings them.

[ She'll let you digest that first before moving on to anything more ]

[ Piper appreciates the pause very much. ]

So you mean like the Boogey man and the things that hide under your bed at night? Those kind of monsters? [ Her eyebrow is cocked ]

[ ... ] These companies ... can they be trusted?

I have yet to determine that. There are those that do trust them but I am unwilling to put my own trust in them when I know little about them.

As for the monsters... if only it were as simple as that. They are dangerous, hard to kill and both strong and fast. It is why you are advised to return inside before the sirens sound - there is Darkness protection surrounding the Starter Apartments.

Yeah, shoving their pamphlets in my face isn't exactly selling themselves to me.

[ Great. More ridiculous monsters. ] ... Are you in these Starter Apartments?

That is something which I can quite understand.

I am, yes. For your first month of stay you're able to reside there for free. After that, or before if you wish you can find alternate accommodations - or pay rent to remain in the apartments. [ She's not yet decided what to do. While it would be nice to have her own place for privacy she doesn't have the funding quite yet for something which she would like, that and it may not be quite so feasible ]

oo, i see you've gone down in price. $476. moleculars August 4 2011, 12:18:43 UTC
There's a money system here? I don't know why I thought otherwise. [ Why can't anything be easy. ] So you're fairly new, too?

With a full government it does seem fitting. [ And... everything else ] I am, yes. I arrived earlier in the month.

I must've skimmed over the government part. This place keeps on surprising.

How are you finding this place?

psssh. you can't deny me longaevus August 10 2011, 16:22:42 UTC
It's possible that it was left from the brochures - many would expect a government in a populated region like this. [ Yeah she skimmed them ]

Surprisingly not all that different from home.

;; it's not my fault i like you so much! moleculars August 15 2011, 11:35:29 UTC
[ Piper's eyebrows rise at that. Considering her home is kind of crap like this place, she doesn't know why she was expecting no one else to be from a world like hers. So it throws her off guard a bit. ] Seriously? How so?

The creatures here share some similarities to those from home, that and the region isn't entirely different.

[ Piper will go out on a limb here ] If they're anything like demons - flame throwers and electric balls - then they're going to be royal pains in the asses.
