Guys...not to be a worry wart, but do people disappear from here very often?

...and do they ever come back?

I haven't seen him or Mouse for almost a week.

Damn. Do you know where they disappeared from? I can maybe go check it out.

As far as I can tell, they disappeared from here...his apartment, I mean. I've been hanging out here with the cat.

My dog has a penchant for finding magic users. But a week later, and she wouldn't have the chance. Smell's too eroded. If they just disappeared... then they might have just gone home. Sometimes, that happens.

I would have called you sooner, but I ran one of our tracking spells right away, using something that belonged to him. If that didn't work, I don't know that there would have been much of a scent trail to follow either. Wherever he is, he's too far away for me to reach him telepathically, either.

I'm sorry. I know you guys are pretty close.

No, it's fine. I just prefer old fashioned methods to magic. I didn't know you could speak to him telepathically.

We are, but I understand you two are closer. Hopefully, he'll return soon.

Yeah...it's not something we usually spread around. Just something we taught ourselves as kids, so we could communicate under the radar of the evil sorcerer we had for a foster father.

We grew up together, but I'm not sure how close we are or aren't, anymore. Just that he's pathologically protective of anything female that moves anyone he considers a friend.

Evil sorcerer? Someone demon-ridden?

Well, obviously he considers you a friend.

I don't know that he was actually possessed, but he could certainly summon them when he wanted to. He was into some pretty Dark stuff.

I consider myself lucky that he doesn't hate my guts.

I've met a few who were... less than scrupulous.

Harry doesn't seem the kind to hate many people.

Oh, he was scrupulous enough. He had everyone fooled into thinking he was a fine, upstanding wizard of the white hat variety.

Considering I almost turned him into a human sacrifice while Justin had me in his thrall...and then let him think that he had killed me for the next half a lifetime...I'd say he'd have a right to.

I know more than a few of those too, unfortunately.

Well, it seems he's forgiven you.

Not that the self-righteous white hats who were to blind to realize what he was are much better. But it's entirely possible that I have issues.

If that's not a miracle, I don't know what is.

I think you're just lucky to have a friend like Harry. I've had more than one friend in my life that was an overbearing jackass. At least Harry tries not to be at times.

He tries, but he is pathologically chivalrous, which can be hard to distinguish at times.
