Back where I was from, they was humans who had somethin' in their genetics that made 'em different. Not like eye color or nothin', but a gene that 'activated' at puberty or durin' times of extreme stress an' gave 'em extra powers. What powers a mutant gets seems t'be random. Most learn t'control their powers. Some don't.
