If you wouldn't mind passing along a message, I'd be curious to talk to your friend about how things work for him in your usual realm of reality. It might make an interesting compare-and-contrast to Metropolis, or Gotham.

[Lois smiles a little and nods slightly to her.]

A little open-mindedness--would you say just playing it out as it goes?

I certainly will.

That and actively seeking each other out, getting to know our strengths and weaknesses, and where we can step in to fill a need--whether we're supers or vanillas. Idealistic, I know, but that's what Harry and I had begun to do, back in the states. To form a support network so that when trouble came knocking the good guys wouldn't have to stand alone.

[Lois tilts her head and smiles. She likes the sound of that.]

Out of curiosity, have you looked into that kind of networking here? It seems like the city could use it ,from what I've seen.

Actually, yes. We have talked about starting up a new branch of the Paranet here.

And it seems like you might have an easier time here--it's not like everyone's got to hide all the time, and there's already at least a few working in public.

It's not that much different from the Internet.

I'd say it's a little better than the internet, considering I can't use computers.

Somehow from your phrasing I'm guessing that isn't a choice or random rule of behavior.

No. Something about the evolution of our personal electromagnetic field just plays havoc with anything electronic.

Well, I've heard stories that sometimes magic and tech don't play nice, I guess.

Though the only witch I've ever actually met never seemed to have a problem. [There's a hint of distaste in her voice--Lois has a few problems with Zatanna.]

Some of the less powerful practitioners can manage okay. Harry and I...not so much.
