[Good evening, Siren’s Port! This particular video broadcast is bringing you something brown and awkward poking at the screen, which quickly resolves to the other end of what looks like a stick. Chuck is on the other end of it, poking it with a stick from the couch (yes, the couch in HIS apartment). He pulls it back and leans it against the couch with a grin.
Chuck looks... well, he’s looked better. A lot better. His face is still a nasty mess of bruises, although he doesn’t have the hamburger face look any more. It’s actually possible to look at him without feeling vaguely nauseous, but he still looks like he lost a fight to five guys and a Mack truck. His left leg is up on about forty pillows and in a cast that goes over his knee and disappears into his shorts, there are weird bandages over his other knee (that weren't there on Friday and Saturday, for those who visited him), and the ring of bruises around his neck are still fading.]
Hey, everybody. [He waves and those paying attention might notice that he’s moving very gingerly and talking a little like he just ran up two flights of stairs. His jaw is actually moving, which should be a surprise to those who noticed the whole... broken thing from last week.] Just thought I’d check in with an I’m-not-dead update, since my NV decided to troll everyone.
I know, I know. You can get back from the edges of your seats now.
Anyway. Uh- just thought I’d say hi, to anyone I might have... freaked out last time. I got home from the hospital this morning, so that’s pretty cool.
By the way, uh. [Pausing to tug on his beard awkwardly.] Anyone who visited me in the hospital? Um. Thank you. It was really cool of you.
[COUGH.] In other news, I totally don’t have a job and I feel kind of weird about bartending at a vampire bar when I can’t get off a rolly stool, so now I have to be creative. What do you guys think? My only marketable skills are bartending and writing. I used to be in a band, but wow I’m at least ten years out of practice, more like twelve.
((OOC: trigger warning for discussion of injuries (derp), discussion of - shall we say - unhealthy interpersonal dynamics, and very detailed discussion of stalking (in the conversation with Magneto). If that stuff triggers you, I strongly advise you to proceed through Michael's thread with caution!))
