[The background is all books, and the video feed is facing Tyrell side on as he blearily rubs his eyes and sits upright in his chair. The burly warrior might look a bit out of place sitting in the library in his fighting garb, but it’s where he’s been mostly holed up recently - his friends back home probably wouldn’t recognize him now ( Read more... )

I used to know two guys like that who knew lots of stuff about everything -- even stuff you couldn't find in any books. But they aren't here in Siren's Port.

Anyway, c'mon, I wouldn't give up hope of going home just yet! Who knows- somebody could find a way home any day now. You just gotta have a little faith!

[Doubly impressed over here!]

Having a hero-dad is a lot to live up to, but it looks like you did just fine!

[Oh, boy, well, that certainly cheers him up!]

You really think so?

Definitely! You even got a head start on your dad... [A pause] if that makes any sense.

How come the world was crumbling away and everything?

Oh, that... that was because the force that sustains the world -- Alchemy, we called it, don't think it goes by the same name here -- was locked away so that people couldn't abuse its powers for evil.

But that wasn't going to do much good for anyone if there was no world to live on, was there? People were suffering... and not to mention literally falling off the face of the world.

Geeze! That's huge! Good thing you guys were around to do something about it.

C'mon, you gotta tell me how it ends! How'd you do it? How'd you guys end up freeing that ... Alchemy stuff?

Oh, the answer to this one's easy: alchemy's power had been restricted into these little gem stone thingies, and the Warriors of Vale and their companions had to use them to light the elemental lighthouses. When all four of them were light, the Golden Sun would rise again and alchemy would be properly restored to the world.

They told this story to all the kids where I'm from. It changed the world.

Whoaa...

So wait a second. If that's the story they told all the kids back then... that means they'll start talking about you and your friends now too!

Yup! I've met some heroes in my day, so I know a thing or two about what's worth talking about.

And.. you got to go home afterward, right? After you saved the world?

Um... I'm not exactly sure about that part.

What do you mean you're not sure?
