[The feed clicks on and we can see an image of a man's face. His bright eyes are wide with something like curiosity, and he's kind of grinning as he turns the device in his hands with a low whistle.]
Man, this is way fancier than any equipment I ever got at work. It's the swankiest walkie-talkie I've ever seen! [He gives an amused laugh, then waves, as if to test and see whether or not anybody can see him.] Walkies with a video feed--what will they think of next...? Maybe if we'd had these at the castle there wouldn't have been so much... miscommunication. [A brief squinch of his face, like the beginnings of a grimace, and then he changes the subject.]
So, I've got a question for you, masses who may or may not be watching this magical video feed. Where does a guy get some ice cream around this city? [A pause and he leans forward to pick up the map he got with his welcome packet, awkwardly unfolding part of it with one hand.] I'm all for some good old-fashioned recon, but it's a little big to explore without any direction whatsoever, after all...
