Not to ask a stupid question, but I've never had to- [Sigh. The teenage boy on the other end of the feed rustles some fabric and scratches his ribs audibly.]- it's just that usually if I'm sick, my Mom...
[He shakes his head, which you probably can't hear, but the slight embarrassment over the above admission probably seeps into his tone just a

[Caster doesn't mention that her name is strange simply because it isn't really hers. Her real one would have sounded a little less unusual but foreign nonetheless.]
[Either way, she keeps a careful eye on him, making sure that he doesn't start scratching.]

[He frowns, and yep, he scratches his stomach again, absently.]
Is it really different from your world?

[Having been looking out for it, her forward gait slows to a stop, the hand on his back exerting a soft pressure to indicate that she wanted him to follow suit.]
Stop for a moment here. [She expects him to speak, to ask a question or even to make a statement. Her free hand reaches out, and she presses an index finger against his lips, hoping to keep him silent.] Don't speak. You said that your throat was sore, right? So don't force yourself to speak when it hurts.
[She lowers the hand from his mouth, and she extends it across his chest, palm faced outwards. She words her order in a coaxing voice:] Give me your other hand.

[Yosuke freezes up for a moment and stares. He does try to ask what's going on, but with a finger pressed to his lips that way he can't do much but suspiciously hold out his hand to her.]

There, now. You can't scratch yourself. [Satisfied with her accomplishment, a reassured smile curves her lips. It is a strange way to walk, but it was the only way that she could think to stop him from scratching.] Make sure you don't use your other hand, alright?
[She would hold that one as well, but then she wouldn't be able to support him as they made their way to their destination.]

I'll try not to! It's just really itchy. It's pretty annoying, you know?

[Caster speaks kindly, but she really wants to remind him not to strain his throat. However, there's something that she wants to ask him about first, and if she wants an answer, he'll need his full use of his vocal chords.]
Could you describe how this...rash of yours looks like?

Are you sure that you would not rather have a doctor come to see you instead? All we have to do is call for one, and if you have calamine lotion, we can apply it to your rash in the meantime. If it happens to be contagious, you wouldn't want anyone else to catch it simply because you walked past them, right?

[Damn it. He doesn't want to get anyone sick, but he also doesn't want to waste a doctor's time to make them come see him over something so minor. He stops walking, and frowns, scratching the rash absently again.]
I don't have any medical supplies. I guess I should get some, huh? Everything I needed always used to just be there already.

Well, I do have some back in my room. If you will return to yours, call for a doctor to come, and wait, I will be there shortly with what you need.
Reply
Okay. If you think that's the best idea, I'll go back there and wait.

Then, come.
[She turns, pulling gently on his hand to encourage him to turn back around with her.]
Don't worry about anything else but your health right now, alright? [She gives him a reassuring smile, hoping to ease any of his concerns.]

I think some hot tea and some rash cream will help with most of it.

Yes, but most of all, you have to keep your fingers from scratching at it. No matter how badly it itches.
