Yeah. It seems like a pretty hopeless situation.

The situation can be what we make of it. We may have been taken from our lives but many have made new ones here.

I've been able to find things to occupy my time, yes.

I was fortunate in that there were things available for me - I'm a doctor, I found work at the hospital, but for others it isn't quite so simple.

Oh -- you're a doctor? [ His tone gets slightly more guarded, trying not to sound sick. ] I was a businessman back home; I doubt that'll be easy to fall right back into, but maybe that's for the best.

That all depends on the nature of your work - there are numerous businesses her.

Chemical manufacturing and R&D. Er, it was my dad's, I just inherited it.

There are companies here that may wish for your expertise, or at least would give you employment.

There's a fund for Newcomers that can be used if necessary, and for your first month here your accommodation is free. There are many here that would also help you as you aclimatise to being here.
