So, TARDIS... sexy... no, TARDIS. No... That's not quite...

Right then. "Sexy".

[ The Doctor looks to be in a... rather sorry state. For one thing, his jacket is singed. For another, he's missing a shoe, of all things ( Read more... )

[Not laughing, not grinning, not chuckling or snirking or anything of the like. Honestly.]

Sexy?

[ ...Oh.

Rose. ]

Stop that.

It's...

...It's...

It's just a technical term.

[ Great explanation, Doctor. Truly top-notch. ]

[Never.]

What, you learn that in boy's school with the rest of the blokes, then?

Ye- No.

No no no!

[ pause. ]

I never learned anything at boy's school because I'm not a "rest of the blokes". I'm... [ he'd use the "Gandalf" line but... ]...

Like Merlin. A space Merlin.

[ Which is so much more original than "Gandalf". ]

Silly Doctor, everyone knows Saturdays are worse than Fridays. You always manage to lose me on Saturdays, after all.

[as to his asking her out, well. that takes a little more thought. not because she doesn't want to, but because she isn't really sure what to say to it]

Dinner? Of course I'll go, though I'm not quite certain how it constitutes an adventure. Will we be jogging and eating at the same time?

Most of the time. There was a while where it seemed like I lost you twice a week. You have a habit of getting yourself into trouble...

[ but um... back to the... date. ]

We could try that. But, I've heard that it's not the best thing. But... Well...

We can do what you want to do.

I get into trouble? I would never be in any sort of trouble at all if you didn't insist on gallivanting about and showing off for your strays.

[it's hands on hips time, Doctor. look what you've done. though now she's thinking about the date, so most of her ire washes away. Caster did recently help her to buy 'sexy' clothes for him ... maybe she could somehow incorporate that]

I don't suppose dinner and investigating the Core are suitable companions?

Gallivanting? I do not gallivant . I... tactfully travel to places with my... friends. Companions. You know what I mean.

[ It seemed to be the way of things with the two of them. They'd bicker, and then kiss and make up.

Metaphorically speaking. And he gives her a friendly smile ]

I'd say that they're more than suitable.

Luck is as one makes it, I've found.

It's a bit of a tricky thing, though. In my experience, luck can be in the eye of the beholder. For instance, I have had worse days.

[ but it's been a while since he's had one that's been this messy. ]

I'll have to take you word for that. But worse need not be a by-product of luck or lack thereof.

I... suppose that there is a possibility that it isn't...

[ But he doesn't want to admit he might be wrong. ]

It's not rubbish sometimes.

Only by pure dumb luck.

Or not really luck at all. More of... coincidence .

It can be both, you know.

Luck would probably mean that I wouldn't have ruined my toaster this morning.

[ pause. ]

I couldn't even salvage any of the good parts.

So to be clear, you're claiming entire responsibility for broadcasting pillow talk to the network? Nothing to do with luck?

...By the way, have you tried reading the horoscopes here? They seem to be pretty accurate.

Pillow talk?!?!?!

[ Ok... once he gets by that flailing...

...He frowns a little, thinking. ]

They never have mine.

That's what it sounds like.

Why, what is yours?

It was a proposal for an adventure.

[ ... ]

Sometime in the Rassilon Era. [ he might have lost track ] Time Lords weren't really the horoscope types.
