[Crocodile is currently pacing his living room, looking over the end of a book. After finishing, he tosses it onto a pile of the ones he's already read. ]

I've been perusing the local library, taking note of the history and geography of this world. What an interesting mass of information. Despite this world having a higher land-to-sea average than my own, the history isn't much better. Full of war, hardship, and empires built on the backs of the weak. The parallels are interesting. The Marines here were also started to deal with pirates and other threats at sea, but they gradually changed to become the advance ground force of the military. Even some pirates that have existed here seem to share names with famous pirates of my era, though in all other respects they're very different.

Humans on the average are just so much weaker, outside of this city. It seems they simply have limited potential, obsessed with creating more powerful weapons to overcome their own deficiencies, or crafting devices to make their lives lazier. Even the tales of your most legendary fighters pale in comparison to warriors I'm more familiar with. How very pathetic. If the greater pirates of my age were to enter this world at large, they'd surely be able to match up against your advanced weaponry.

Of course, there are your "nuclear weapons". Now THAT is truly impressive. The ability to wipe out a country in a few strikes. A seductively powerful creation, even if the land is made uninhabitable afterward.

This place still has so much to teach me.

[A short time passes, until one conversation piques his interest.]

KWA! AH! AH! AH! AH! AH! Someone just told me that someone should "never have that type of power", in regards to wide scale destructive capability. How ridiculous! Power belongs to whoever can keep hold of it. There's no moral arbiter deciding how much you're allowed. Grab whatever you can, until someone pries it from your hand.
