[There's a soft crackling of static as the feed clicks on once, twice, three times, turning off several times and then clicking back on. Each time, there's too much noise in the background to discern who's present. Finally, it clicks on to the sound of faint growling in the distance.
Riku makes a noise in his throat, voice quiet.]
Even on a night like tonight, you're not strong enough. That's disappointing.
[The static is there, like white noise, just beneath the surface as he speaks.] The Darkness-proofing isn't holding for some of the buildings; the monsters are too powerful. It's like they can smell the people inside of the houses and want to get to them.
[The growling's back, but Riku says nothing to deter it. Instead, several seconds later, whatever it is starts whimpering until it finally grows silent.] If anyone feels the pressing need to go out, then don't bother. You're just asking to be killed. It's not worth the work and worry, and I think every doctor in the city will thank you for not being stupid.
