Happy New Year's, everyone!
[The girl is cheerful despite all that's happened, trying to brighten the network up today. She's wearing a light blue kimono, one she's made for herself. Her hair is down, too, for once. She waves a little at the camera.]
I don't think I heard anyone getting too crazy last night, but I wasn't really paying much attention. I hope no one got sick from drinking too much last night.
[There's sort of a point to this post beyond just trying to cheer people up.] There's no shrine here, but I made a little makeshift one for today since I wasn't sure what else to do. It's been a tradition for me - and for almost everyone I knew back home - to go every year to the shrine to make a prayer for the coming year. A lot of people make resolutions too and it's really the same thing, right?
[She fusses a little with her sash, brushing some of her hair behind her shoulder.]
Last year, my friends and I went to the shrine and we all prayed for the same thing. And sure enough, a month later, it came true! It was something we really bonded over, to be honest... It was one of the few times we all got together as a team to have a good time. We were always busy last year, so- [Getting off topic.] But in either case, I think we can do the same thing if we have enough people to believe in it, right?
This year, let's hope to make it a peaceful one, safe and happy for as many people as possible. How about that?
