[he pushes fingers back through his hair, and taps the ashes off the tip of his cigarette]
Can't seem to access the outside network, no matter what workarounds I try, I can't get past whatever intranet is being used in this City. Mind you, that's not really my top field of expertise, but...well, I know how to finagle a network. Kind of important for LAN parties.
[he pauses, puffing on his cigarette with a lazy expression on his face]
News for the past couple days has been really interesting, don't you think?
[and another pause, while he lifts his chin and regards the NV seriously]
Hopefully getting a job takes care of the lack of cigarettes.
