This...announcement is relevant to all who know Jack Kelly or Sirius Black. Last night, they allegedly attacked an AGI slaver convoy and were subsequently detained. Their attorney, assigned to them by AGI, has put through the paperwork to auction them off as slaves. The auction will occur this Saturday.
[A pause, and a swallow.]
I...do not believe in supporting AGI in anything they do. I do not believe in giving them any share of our livelihoods. And nor do I believe in giving preferential treatment to those of our acquaintance; it is not correct, nor equitable, to seek to rescue our friends when there are countless individuals remaining unjustly in similar circumstances.
I acknowledge, therefore, my hypocrisy in so much as asking you this - this which is repugnant to all we stand for. And, indeed, if it strikes you as equally repugnant, I ask that you vote against it. But I do ask for a vote.
For all who contribute to the Newcomer Fund: Would you willingly release money from the fund with which we can purchase the freedom of Mr. Kelly and Mr. Black?
