audio; January 16. mid-day

Jan 16, 2011 01:41

[ The recording starts up on relative silence at first, a mere second of it before it's broken by that initial first breath before speech. The sounds of a city are faint and almost inaudible in the background. ]

Hello, Siren's Port, and good afternoon. Assuming this is the common method of communication within the city, of course. If there is a more convenient method than general broadcasts like this, then I apologize, and bid you to enjoy the remainder of your day. Until then, I offer you my greetings and thanks for the wonderful and pleasant welcome received upon my arrival.

[ It's a voice and tone that could have come straight out of an answering machine recording, clipped and professional and decidedly no-nonsense. Don't mind the wry note creeping in there, or that faint hint of an accent threaded through it all. ]

If someone would be so kind as to provide additional answers to my questions, it would be much appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a good day.

[ And with that, the broadcast ends, cutting off with a rustle of cloth and a distant scrape of gravel. ]
