My children are having trouble sleeping. I thought to tell them an old story and felt that I would share it with everyone else while I told my little tale.
It is an elfin myth about two brothers who became the Gods of Destruction. The older one was called Falcon, who possessed the gift of knowledge, and the younger was called Lion, who possessed the gift of might. Both fought in the war between humans and elves. [Soft humming.] Using their gifts, they brought mankind to its knees. But with the end of the war, there was no one left to test their skills against, so they continued their quest for knowledge and power.
Eventually, Falcon gained the knowledge of the universe and Lion could crack open the earth with his fists. [Laughs softly to himself as his children seem more impressed than horrified by what has occurred.] In the end, the two became the Gods of Destruction and the elves had no choice but to seal them in "Hero's Time." It cost millions and millions of lives to deal with just these two, but there was peace. Finally.
