[ The feed cues up this time, with an Ella in motion. NV book cradled against one arm, she's holding a grocery bag with the other hand, walking alongside an elderly woman. ]
Running a little late on my schedule today - I ran into someone at the store and agreed to help her take her groceries home. There's quite a lot, actually, but I should be home soon. More importantly, I hope everyone's doing all right in light of what's going on. [ And those creepy cultists - ugh. About to say more, she is instead distracted by the elderly woman. ]
"Oh dear - I've forgotten dinner. Wait there, and I'll be right out."
[ Well. She hasn't any choice now, but Ella smiles and nods as the woman trots into a fast food restaurant. For a few minutes Ella stands, waiting patiently, watching a crane operator try and lift a giant two ton plaster chicken statue onto the building next to her. Understandably she's a bit nervous when she's all but directly under it, watching its progress. Something she sees abruptly alarms her, and she shifts her weight - though seems unable or unwilling to move her feet or lift her legs. Not that this is visible from the angle the book gives. Instead, she tries flagging the driver down. ]
UM! Excuse me! Hey! [ Her attempts to get the drivers attention fail, so she tries to get the attention of the woman inside the restaurant, going so far as to knock on the window - also meeting with failure. ] HEY! [ Back to the one controlling the crane. ] Your rope! THe rope is frayed! Don't -
[ The next sound that follows is a loud -SNAP-, and Ella jerks her head up, face paling, dropping the book in shock. ] Oh gods.
