Roxas had already been more than ready to make Axel the ice cream he wanted-anything to make his best friend feel better about his missing pet. He couldn't imagine what he'd do if Xact were the one to go missing. No, that was a lie, he could imagine, and he didn't like to think about it.
Winner was more than a pet, too. He felt kind of silly just thinking about it, and he definitely wasn't going to say anything about it, but giving her to Axel had been the new start for their friendship, and her name...well, she was important, that was all. It was better that this could be ice cream to celebrate a homecoming instead of as consolation.
It was kind of nice to sit out here and eat it just the two of them, too. He and Axel and Xion belonged together, and he wouldn't give up Joe's friendship for anything. But back in the days that he were fuzzier in his memories, this was how things had started out. It wasn't so bad to remember that.
