[ It isn't the first time he's wandered the shadow-ridden streets, but with the advent of the new year, he ventures out once again in the depths of the city's rot. The very air itself reeks with the stench of decay and the dying; however, it does not deter him, the haze of blackness melting away around him with every step he takes. The darkness cannot touch him, the creatures within it repelled by his presence alone. They follow him regardless, some hissing and spitting like cornered cats, while others simply lurk, perhaps wanting to touch what is just beyond their reach.
He pays them no mind, treading paths he's walked once before -- a solitary figure. He is not, however, averse to company. ]
