Since walking out of Rachel's room that day, two weeks ago, he hadn't really seen much of her. It was partly a carefully orchestrated plan, and partly just him not really leaving the apartment much. He couldn't even really use the excuse that he'd been keeping busy. He'd talked with a few new arrivals, walking down to the ball field to get Quinn, but what else had he done? What could he say that he'd been up to since the last time he'd actually seen his brother, or his... well, Rachel. There were no excuses aside from how awkward he'd felt around Rachel right before he'd left. Things were fine until he'd started getting into the things back in Lima that Rachel hadn't yet experienced. He should have just left it alone. Or maybe he should have just told her everything ( ... )

Staring up at Finn, it was easy to remember what she had first fallen in love with the first time that she'd seen him-- in fact, it was more than easy enough for her to feel the rush of that wash over as she opened her mouth to yell at him, she was sure, only to find herself smiling at him a little as she shook her head. He was always the same kind of guy, and that was something that helped her keep on feeling like there was a little piece of home when she needed it and back home... it had helped to keep her grounded and focused on her career. She knew she could always count on Finn.

"You were thinking about me?" She asked curiously, feeling a little bit of what she had felt every day that they had been together.

"It doesn't work like that, though, unless... that's the power that they gave you here, but that would be a strange power and, well, I definitely decided to come here by myself."

Biting her bottom lip a little, she looked back up at him. "Would you like to come for a walk?"

It felt like one of the first times he was seeing her. He couldn't quite put his finger of why, and just chalked it up to how nervous she used to make him, compared to how nervous he felt standing there, looking down at her. He pushed his hands into his pockets and looked down at his feet. Maybe it was the thought of being able to possibly start over here (maybe she could get past everything he told her -- and didn't -- and they could just start fresh or something). They were in a new place with the McKinley High problems left back in Lima.

Finn smiled to himself before looking at Rachel again. It had actually been harder than he thought to spend so much time away from Rachel. Since that first day in glee club, had they spent so much time apart? He leaned against the door frame and his smile simply grew as she spoke. It seemed like the last two weeks away from her made it so much easier to listen to her completely, actually give her his full attention ( ... )

It had been obvious that he'd been thinking about her after what he'd told her already, but she'd still felt compelled to ask the question (and what girl doesn't like to hear that the guy she loves was thinking of her? Especially someone who obviously, in her opinion, deserved to hear it as much as Rachel did), and when she heard the answer, it was easily the best thing she'd heard all day.

"There isn't really anything that interesting to see around here, but it's easier to deal with the whole crazy Canada that we can't escape from thing when you know your way around a little bit better. Or that's how I always thought about it... even if it's hard to find really good vegan food here, it's like a primitive land or something."

Stepping out of the doorway, she waited for Finn to come out to follow with her.

"Also, it'll give us a good time to talk. It's been a while, I gave you your time, but I thought it would be good to talk again."
