Why, exactly, he was out after the siren, Ken couldn't explain beyond a vague feeling of restlessness. He hadn't slept well for days, ever since Mamoru's arrival, too busy wondering exactly what that meant for all of them.

He'd managed to avoid all the monsters and assorted nasties thus far, though if he couldn't run he thought he was pretty well ready for them. His weapon was a familiar weight at his side, ready to attack and defend.
And as a shrill, inhuman scream in the near distance sent a jolt down Ken's spine, it seemed that it might be necessary. He had a bad feeling about this.
