Since I had to read one Robert Mapplethorpe for one of my classes, and I was trying to find an inspiration article for another, I started to reconnect to a photographer that was one of the first photographers I had this almost immediate connection to - Bob Carlos Clarke

Interesting enough, I have been re-reading Bob Carlos Clark this week for some projects of mine :) I know I may be stoned to death here, but I sometimes think he's more significant to my own style than Mapplethorpe.

Agreed. The thing I find with Mapplethorpe is you have to get past the initial shock value to appreciate some of what he's doing visually.
