Uppity Independent Voter Strikes Again...

Ok, so I had a flashback to the last college newspaper I was working on, and how the adviser mentioned that some newspapers, when formulating the editorial topic, take a vote, determine the staff majority opinion, and then get a person or persons out of the staff minority to write the editorial from the majority's viewpoint. So I pose to you this ( Read more... )

You should vote for McCain if you like the direction in which the country has been going for the last 8 years. If you agree with the policies he and Gov. Palin profoundly support, if you believe his sound judgement will put two people on the Supreme Court who will continue to bring about the sort of social policy and political will and corporate leeway their kind of constitutional comprehension brings to bear. They will bring forth many challenges to this court, they will do their damndest as they have been doing so far, so long as they both shall live, in the White House.

Voting isn't mandatory, it's just an excercise in responsibility which most do not do, so we get what those extremists who vote want, if you leave your vote on the table, someone elses vote takes on more power.

If you are disgusted with both don't abstain but do what I am doing and find a 3rd party candidate you like. Because all a 3rd party needs is 6% of the popular vote to get the same funding as the Democrats and Republicans for the next presidential election. They also have to be given slots in all the debates. If you are sick of both then vote for a 3rd. Because we know who has won California, so it's not throwing you vote away.

Bob Barr 08! <3 for the first time I am saying don't abstain...;)

Yeah, well, until there's a viable 3rd party, I feel that if I'm going to go that route, I'm better off throwing my vote away.

true if you don't feel there is a 3rd party you can get behind then you shouldn't vote. But in a state like California it's not tossing you vote, because we all know who has won here in our home state. But it might not even be the party as a whole just a candidate you can get behind. I am not a fan of tossing votes. But do what you gotta do happy.
