There hasn't been a lot of visible progress on MV3D recently. That's mostly due to changes in my employment, but also because I'm working on a monolithic project to revamp the load balancing. I think I'm half way through, but I'm not really sure. Anyway, for the past 3 years, I've been the only developer working on MV3D. Mainly, I wanted to make ( Read more... )

Cool! I have been trying to get more Python / PyGame / Ogre practice, and contributing to MV3D seems like a fun way to do that. :-)

Awesome! You'll also get more twisted practice than you ever wanted. haha.

I was hoping to point you at this page:

http://www.mv3d.com/trac/wiki/WindowsClientInstall

But it seems out of date.. I'll update that and change the date on it when I'm done. I'm assuming here you're dev'ing on Windows. Right now two people (Glyph and another) have been trying to get Python-Ogre working on Linux with no luck. I've been toying with the idea of offering some money through paypal to the first person to get me a .deb of Python Ogre that runs on Ubuntu 64bit (with the modules needed for MV3D: CEGUI, Caelum, OgreForests, maybe Hydrax). :)

Hello!

I'm very interested in your framework. I'm new in game developing, but I have big plan to develop a game just for fun and for getting experience. I've decided to use your engine to do that, cause it's open source and cause it's Python :-). Generally i want just to implement a game logic and investigate more framework and all technologies which was used in this project(like twisted, OGRE, ODE and so on). I think that i also can help develop engine, but first of all i want to understand some concepts of the engine(cause as i say i'm newer in gamedev :-).

And else one. I have problem with registering on MV3D forum. I registered new account several days ago, but havn't received activate letter yet. Can you solve this problem?

I activated your account. I'm not sure what is going on since there were a ton of unactivated accounts (all spam except yours). It is supposed to email me when someone registers, but it hasn't done so. When I tried registering a new user though, it did email me. Dunno. I'll have to check the inactive users more often I suppose.

Looking forward to seeing you on the forums!
