Estimated Sim Lim price:

i7920 CPU + X58 motherboard ~900
6GB DDR3 memory ~240 (not sure why their memory comes as 4GB, DDR3 RAM comes either as 3GB or 6GB sets)
1TB harddisk ~130 (can't find a 750GB hdd)
16x DVDRW ~50
NVIDIA GTS250 1GB graphics card ~250 (can't find 1.5GB graphics card)
Casing ~100-200
Mouse+Keyboard ~30 (for basic Logitech stuff)

Total ~1700

Not sure how much the software part will cost (Windows + all the other blah stuff)

ok, but note that i'm over quoting you for some of the stuff.

but if you go with HP you'll get the assurance of warranty and such. so generally for people who are not familiar with building and maintaining their own systems, i would suggest going with a brand retailer to save of the trouble.

Arh you are wrong. Labtop is never cheap depend on what spec you get.
If you are getting a labtop that cost ~2k a desk top should be around ~1.2k

And with the above spec the cpu gonna produce lots of heat, without a cooling system, mean it gonna be a freaking big labtop which defeat the purpose of mobile, and it cost ~3.2k last check at IT fair.
it about 40% different....
