Brokeback Mountain, The King and CB's bday

Jan 30, 2006 01:56

I've made myself scarce these days on purpose - too much work for one part, but hopefully it's going to calm down now, and mostly I was getting really fed up with having to read the same jokes over and over again (it's nothing to do with anyone on my flist so I feel at ease writing this) and it was probably better for everyone that I stay away for ( Read more... )

I hope the audience will be more mature this time because the one I got last time couldn't stop laughing stupidly (I remember particularly when Alma discovers the truth).

You too, eh? Happened here as well - the second time I saw it, with Patty. The first time I saw it was mostly a queer audience and I heard one or two nervous titters. The second time seemed like a mostly straight audience and there was a lot of laughing. I wanted to stand up and shout at them. "Shut up, eejits! What's so goddamn funny?"

I haven't seen The King but I'll keep an eye out for it.

Finally, what's that second-to-last picture of Christian from? He looks so beautiful with long hair.

I imagine the movie hits too close to home for certain people. What's worse than being left for someone of the same sex as your partner ?! I hope there will be less people this time, even if it's great that a "gay movie" makes such a success ( ... )

Salut !

Happy Birthday Christian! :)

And good to see you around. :) Hope things are well with you.

I loved Jake as Jack, I think he did a terrific job, and Jack really does evolve. Ennis didn't change too much. One of my favorite Jack moments is when he tells off his father in law! ^__^ But I'm really with the Heath camp myself. He really transformed himself. It was beautiful, I thought. I love Jake, though. He's so charming and cute in interviews. :) I'm sad I missed Jarhead in the theatre! But I look forward to catching the DVD.

Good to see you too ;)

Yes, I really liked that scene with his father in law too. My favourite moment maybe was when Jack said to Ennis that he wish he could quit him, or something like this, the whole scene was gripping, there was so much suffering on each part, and so much love from each of them.

I agree Heath's acting was really good, I just have nothing to compair it with as for the transformation since I don't think I've ever seen him in something else. I avoided The Knight movie, or whatever it was called, like the plague, didn't see Lords of dogtown or Casanova... No, come to think of it, I know I've seen him in Monster's ball but I don't remember him more than any other character and it was already a so not funny part.

I'm so glad to see you too ;)

There were some lighter moments, but I don't recall finding any of them very comical. Maybe it was too much for the first viewing and I'll find it easier next time to see the humour, who knows ?

I was thinking of a conversation we had some time ago : have you seen Metroland finally ? Anyway, here are a few more pics from it. Younger Christian, he's almost too thin when he's naked ;) And although I like the 60s style, I hate the 70s, the hair particularly (the sideburns !!)

Hey, you're back! *waves* :)

Oh, Happy Belated Christian's birthday! I love those pics. ♥ Such a funny thing that we were talking about him today (I and my friends); I remember my friend saying that he freaked her out because of one picture she saw from American Psycho. :P I can't remember how we ended up having a conversation about him, but I remember i said someone looked just like him and made the point of me liking him a lot... Gosh, I have a bad memory. :/

I still haven't seen BBM (will watch it this week, I promise I'll try)... But i do know what's going to happen, I had to spoil myself to stop me from crying (hopefully). I truly wish I had more time for watching movies, right now it feels like all I do is get lazy and study. Blah!

Jake's such a gorgeous boy too. ♥ Love.
