Latest movies I've seen : a French one, Fauteuils d'orchestre, not a masterpiece but a nice "comedy" nonetheless, with great actors, and particularly one I had a big crush on when I was a lot younger (and he too obviously ! though he's only in his early 40s now). Then I saw Walk the line last week : I was not entranced but the movie's nice too. Johnny Cash is almost totally unknown here (June Carter even more so) but the portrait they made of him was rather moving. Is the movie really like Ray, and their lifes too, as I've heard a lot ? Now I'm looking forward to see Breakfast on Pluto, this week probably.
So many birthdays these days ! My dog first, even if she's not really aware of the event ;) She's now 11 and I'm not really happy about it, I can't help thinking it may be her last year... My mother's bday then was on Saturday. I had absolutely no idea what to offer to her and then she asked me to book tickets for her to a concert using Internet and I got the perfect gift ! Poor darling is on diet at the moment, so my first, immediate gift was to invite her for diner in a restaurant. She's been dreaming of a good steak with French fries for such a long time, so we went to Hippopotamus and it was fun to see how much she enjoyed straying out (?) of her diet for one evening ! ;D
Good news for the near future : the new, shiny computers at work will be installed at the end of this week !! Even better, my little trip to Rome I told you about last year will take place not this weekend but the next one. The only bad point is that we're only four to go there, including my boss and I'm almost certain that I'll end up sharing a room with her. And if I like my boss a lot as a boss, I have no desire to go in vacation with her. Please, cross your fingers for me in the hope that she'll be able to stop talking about work for three days, and also able to stop trying and convincing me that her opinion is the best one every time we disagree...
Before the usual wallpapers, let's take a second to mourn the end of Sacred and Profane, and to admire Alex's labour of love as well as her dedication to her story. I've seen so many forgotten WIPs around fandoms, I can't help being happy to see this finished, even if Alex herself never doubted it ;) Now I only have to find - and take - the time to (re)read the whole thing.
Candygram has worked hard for me once again and this time she created no less than five wallpapers of Ewan with pics from the Island and Stay. I'll display my favourite at full size and you just click on the other ones. But before, you'll have to watch a wall I made : I bought a mag recently to scan some pics for someone who didn't need them finally, so I decided to use some of the photos for me. Here it is, a wp of the French actress Barbara Schulz. I'm not very aware of her career (I think she plays mostly for TV but I could be wrong) but I've always thought she's very pretty and I like a lot those outfits she wears for the play "Pygmalion".
And I almost forgot :
link to the very simple Ewan/Bono wall I made for the playmates and uploaded at the playground. Hope you'll enjoy all those little pieces of artwork ! ;D
