Summer doesn't seem so far today. Finally ! Last week was cold and rainy, 14° in the afternoon, and now they announce 31° for next week ! That's France for you ;) I never know what to wear when I dress in the morning

I'm at work, so I won't be able to get a good look at the wallpapers until I get home. (The thumbnails are enticing, however!) But:
My mother went cruising (?) last week, six days on the Danube.
One would say she "went on a cruise". Technically you can say "cruising", but that word is also a slang term for seeking out public sex - specifically gay men looking for partners. So heh, your Mum cruising the Danube can have racy connotations in English! :D
But it sounds like she had a wonderful time. I've never been to that part of Europe; one day I'd love to see it for myself. :)
My sympathies on the work front - things are getting a little crazy at my job too.
ROFL !! I'll tell this to my mother, she's gonna LOVE it ;D
You know what, I wanted to write went on a cruise but I checked at dictionary.com and it said the word was cruising, not cruise, but it didn't feel right so I changed the sentence... Although the gay men looking for partners bit is so not surprising coming from me !! ;D
I've only been to Munich, which I loved, and I'd like to go farther to the East. To see all the history we share, and all the things that are different too.
My sympathies too about the job ! Hope it will settle for you soon enough.
It's getting warmer over here as well, the rain is gone!
I don't think i'll go see Volver at the cinema, it'll rent it instead. Hable Con Ella was the first Almodóvar i saw and loved, and then came La Mala Educación ♥ Since then i've only seen one or two of his other movies..
That cruise sounds great! And yay for cute office guy!! Good luck with everything *hugs*
First, this is the most beautiful Gael icon I've ever seen ! His eyes just shine, I'm falling in love again ;D
You'll see, in a few days we'll survive only thanks to fans ;)
Hable con ella is an incredible movie, I found it totally fascinating and very daring. La mala educacion of course is one of my favourite Almodovar movies. I have a special place in my heart for High heels which was the first one of him I saw and loved to bits (and the music !! Luz Casal's beautiful voice - by the way, there's also a beautiful and heart wrenching song in Volver, one of the moments of the film). I've also been told by slash friends to watch La lei del deseo, which has just been released in DVD here so I might try sooner or later.
The drooling over the cute guy reminded me of that old ad for Coca Cola (or Pepsi ?) with Paul Johansson, where the entire staff of secretaries went crazy watching the delivery guy. Do you know it ? I loved it ;)
I've seen bits of La Ley Del Deseo, some years ago, i like slashy Antonio :P I looove the scene with the song in Hable Con Ella, that's so heartbreakingly beautiful.
Not sure if i know that ad, but i remember the one where all the women look through the window to see a hot construction worker drink his coke for lunch (the song is Loved By You i think) Maybe it's the same ad XD
So, Les Brigades du Tigre... one more movie I wanted to go and see and finally did not. Thanks to your walls, I feel like I'm catching up :)
I love the sepia tints you used. It gives them an "authentic" look and fits perfectly with the time period of the movie (but that was the idea, I guess).
Good luck with the work (it's kind of reassuring to know that everywhere it's the same : do more with less people and less money), sounds tough but there are compensations ;)
ooohhhhhh Vienna!!! i had a friend in uni, his name was Pierre, and he had backpacked all round Europe during the summer, and he would spend hours telling me about the beauty that is Austria, and how i had to go there to see it for myself!!! *reminisces with glee* i wonder what Pierre is doing now... and i never did visit Austria.
so you're mom went cruisin' eh?? and you were stripping a young man with your eyes... i see the nut didn't fall far from the tree... :D
;D I've always been told that I look a lot like my mother ! Pierre... that was my father's name. What are you saying ?! he didn't went to Austria... My poor Rose, you're a bit confused ;D *sends kisses*
There was a guy from Québec on the radio a few days ago. He left home five or six years ago I think (he's married and has kids) with almost no money to travel around the world. He's now in France, sleeps where he can, often invited by people he just met, eats thanks to their generosity... I would not be able to live like that and I admire him but at the same time, I find him quite selfish when I think of his kids.
he sure does sound selfish... unlike ewan, he hasn't returned home?? jerk! what's his name, i'll alert his wife as to his whereabouts, she might want him extradited!! *kidding*
Pierre is a lovely name... ok, so i'm biaised!! ;D

It does make you almost wish for retirement, doesn't it ? ;D Of course, with enough time AND money to be able to travel !
