I think the main reason that I have a distatste for conservatives is that while I like to think of myself as accepting, a lot of them absolutely hate anything having to do with queer people or their lives. It doesn't really help when the argument is something about god not liking gays etc., and I find that even more disturbing because there is that whole "church and state" seperation thats supposed to be there. Sure your values can be guided by your faith, but dont then impress your faith-guided values (via law/state) into the lives of others.

So I don't hate conservatives (hell, I'm the only non-conservative in my family and I sure like them) but when they can't accept other people for who they are, I find that pretty closed-minded and frustrating.

I agree with what you've said. You've put it much better than I did.

I also agree with overider's comment and understand. There just seems to be so much bitterness and anger, and it makes me sick at heart and sad.
