I was going to give a written post a go, but I have completely forgotten how to use a quill. All I managed to do was upset the ink pot ( Read more... )

So I've heard. I'm glad to have you. I'm going to be doing trainings soon. I can start you this afternoon if you like.

I wouldn't want to know my future; I've traveled in time and I'd never want to muck up the timeline. Paradoxes are too difficult.

I'd like to get started, if that works for you. Whatever is best for you, really. You're the busy doctor.

But do you think it's different for me, what with it all being written already?

Did you enjoy time travel?

Yeah, that works for me.

I don't know, Sirius. There are points in time that are fixed, and they always need to happen, and then there are ones that can be changed. I honestly don't know which your life happens to be.

There were parts of it that were more brilliant than others. I'll tell you about it someday, if you like.

But how can you ever know if a point in time is fixed or not? There are so many lives, so many moments. Think of all the split seconds. I highly doubt my life is fixed. My godson's life, on the other hand, is incredibly important. His books exist in at least two worlds.

I'd like to hear about it. Have you heard of a Time-Turner?

[Oh lawd, this question was made for him.] I can tell you based upon personal experience, seeing those things isn't all it's made out to be.

Have you actually seen your future? Are you a Seer?

Yes. My future prior to coming here, at least. And other peoples' futures.

As for being a Seer, I've never used that term to describe myself, but other people have. I suppose it's fitting in some way.

My future is in some books. So I wouldn't actually see it, but I'd be reading it. I'm not even remotely interested in any of it. I imagine seeing the future would be fun for all of two seconds before it became a complete nightmare.

Did you tell those other people their futures?

What term do you use for yourself? Or are you term-less?

I wouldn't want to know, but I don't have a future anyway. They tell me I'm dead.

Are you a Warden or an Inmate? Because I believe all us Inmate types are dead.

Funny thing is, I'm dead but I'm not. Try wrapping your mind around that one.

So, basically, if you're Inmate-dead, you may still have a future somehow. Because I supposedly do.

I'm an inmate.

I think I'm pretty dead. I remember dying. Or getting shot. I can only assume it was fatal.

How do you do? I'm Vila.

I remember dying as well. I killed myself. But I'm in some books that are about the future, and I die in them as well. So maybe I'm just that special and get two deaths.

Maybe it wasn't fatal. Maybe you're here for whatever it is you're here for, and then you'll be sent back.

Hello, Vila. I'm Sirius. Pleasure to meet you.

I'm rather certain said 'future' isn't so bright. So, if reading about it will make it happen, I rather not. I rather not either way.

It's against the laws of time to do such a thing, and the potential for a paradox is immense.

...

Despite that, some people have been known to peek into their own future. But the future is always ephemeral. I prefer to deal in hard facts.

I am unaware of the laws of time. Someone else has mentioned a paradox to me, someone who once traveled time.

I rather deal with the present, and possibly rectify the past, if possible.
