Even for a Prefect who has seen it all before, the sight of Sirius Black utterly nude save for strategic smears of frosting is a spectacle to behold. Remus has ten seconds to take in the awesome sight before Sirius bounds to his side, scented of powdered sugar and grinning like the cat who caught the canary, albeit in a canine way.
"I'm sorry," Sirius says.
"Why are you sorry?"
"I opened your birthday cards and ate most of your birthday cake. But there is good news."
"Oh?"
Holding his arms out, Sirius smiles wider. "I saved you the frosting."
