It was such a beautiful book. It inspired me to write more, too. I loved it, although one of my teachers pointed out that actually, the ending was kind of negative towards women. I think that we still have a long way to go. I will openly admit that women are not meant to survive in a "dog-eat-dog" world. But I still have hope and that is what makes me believe. The novel really opened my eyes to the world as well as to literature. I am now reading novels with such a different passion than I used to. I feel like I am catching on to things more now. The novel really did change me forever and I'm really grateful for that.

I'm glad that it had such an affect on you. It really did on me, as well. We had to vote for our most favorite in-class novel Monday, and I voted for "The Awakening." Only one other person did! lol It was a girl who voted, too. :D
