I'm having trouble finding where to join the commnity. Must have missed this post the first time around...

You just click on the link to enter the community and the first line you see is a sentence that has a link to 'join this community'. If you simply want to watch the community, just add it as a 'friend' like any other lj. Of course, you don't need to do anything to post or view the community. You can always link to it from my userinfo page. You're welcome to join.
