Who: Eileen (ladyeileen) and Lepant (sirlepant)
Where: Trading post
When: A short time this.
What: Just telling Lepant about Skald's departure.

Eileen had come into the store after she had spoken with Admiral Egan at the tavern and decided to stay there for the rest of the day. There wasn't much she could help on, but the little things that she could do were done when asked to.

The front door closed as a customer exited, leaving she and Lepant to themselves for the time being. "I spoke with Admiral Skald today," she said cheerfully, looking to him from the counter. "He's travelling out to sea tomorrow."

"Is that so?" Lepant returned curiously as he put the potch from the last customer in the till. "It's been a long time since last I've seen him.

"He had his daughter's wedding to prepare for. Did I tell you about it?" Eileen was sure she had mentioned it in the past, but she could be wrong. Not waiting for an answer she continued, "It was a few days ago -- maybe that day we heard the commotion. But anyway, I asked him to have a drink with us when he returns."

Lepant perked up and looked over to her. "Is that so? The drink should be on me for missing the opportunity buy him one before the wedding." He paused a moment before asking, "Do you know why he left so soon afterwards?"

"He announced that his crew was badly out of shaped." She smiled at her words and leaned her hands onto the counter top. "He said it was only going to be a short voyage; he must just want to use his ship once in a while, even more so when he has his shipmates here with him."

Lepant nodded. "I can understand that. Sailing must be like swordsmanship in that respect.
"Do you know when he and his crew are do back?"

"A few weeks?" Eileen paused as she tried to remember the early part of the conversation. "I know that he's going to go into Vinay del Zexay before returning."

"I see," he murmured as he rolled his shoulders. Placing a hand on the counter, he turned himself to fully face his wife. "I hope his voyage is a safe one, then. If you see him before I do, tell me so we can share that drink."

"Of course I will. It shall be a drink I look forward to." To that she gave a smile, then backed from the counter as she covered her mouth with a yawn. "It's starting to get late."

Lepant looked to the storefront windows. "It is," he agreed. "It's about time to close shop." He walked over to Eileen, placing her a hand over hers. "Let's go."
