Granted, it's been a year and a half since I started, then stopped teaching myself to build websites (I have people for that now), but is it too much to ask for an event website to say something more than "information coming soon" in almost every category 4 days before the event? No, you're not asking too much. It doesn't even have anything to do with whether one knows how to build a website - once the site's up (they've got the "info coming soon" banner), making text updates is not any more difficult than posting to LiveJournal.

Do they get too busy? Do they forget? Do they figure that everyone who needs to know already knows (is local)? Who knows. I agree - it's frustrating, and it's discouraging to those who might want to travel to an event.

Hmmm...there does seem to be a paucity of information on the site.

The College of Heralds is holding its annual Symposium at the event so there will be classes on heraldry related schtuff all day.

But, no...I'm with you on this one. The ball was dropped, badly.

As for not 'having the guts' to participate in the Iron Garb competition...the other folks would have to have a lot of guts to enter with you in it.
