So Leadbelly wrote "Gallows Pole"? Is that the song Zep covered on their third album? If so, didn't the Kingston Trio also cover that?

I am shamefully ignorant about Leadbelly but am a fan of Johnson, particularly "Stones in My Passway" and "Hellhound on My Trail."

Speaking of the blues, I saw Keb' Mo' with Robert Cray on Saturday.

Most of Leadbelly's compositions are his takes on traditional songs. Only some of Johnson's are. Maybe that's what makes RJ more fascinating and mysterious.

I recommend you get to know Leadbelly. You'll like him. A lot, I'm guessing...

Keb' Mo' and Cray in one show.... Man, some guys have the luck... :-)
