The "Easy Rider" soundtrack has Smith covering "The Weight" because the folks putting the soundtrack together couldn't get the rights to The Band's version (which I think was part of the movie).

She was a terrific singer. Couldn't figure out why she got so much less attention than, say, Genya Ravan who wasn't nearly as talented - at least I thought...

I love that cover of "Baby, It's You." But those were the days when you had to write your own material. Now, I guess, they could be huge, cause they can play. The Matrix or somebody would "compose" tunes for them....
