If Capuano doesn't get name recognition, we'll have to settle for Coakley in the Senate. It'd be nice to get a little more oomph in the progressive wing. If anybody knows where to get a full version of the recent debate, video or transcript, let me know.

Alan Khazei deserves some attention. He's a central figure in what I might term the Public Service Movement. Pagliuca is kind of a wealthy, business-minded populist. Private equity investor. He owns the Celtics and was trying to buy the Boston Globe until he announced his candidacy. As AG, Martha Coakley filed a suit challenging the Constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act.
My cart is hitched to Capuano because he's a strong, unabashed progressive with good political connections and a solid track record. He writes semifrequent "e-updates," discussing the rationale for various votes in the House. His campaign is also well-funded, and he may well be the best contender against Coakley, the front-runner.
All in all, though, not a bad crop of contenders.

Majority in the House, 60 votes + 1 in the Senate, the White House...
... And what?
Fuck them forever and ever.

Fuck them for claiming to reform healthcare while cutting a back-room deal with drug companies.
Fuck them for intellectual property law.
Fuck them for participating in an undermined democracy.
Don't legitimize the process-- the process is a fucking lie.
There is nothing about the Democratic Party that massive simultaneous heart failures of every party official above state level wouldn't vastly improve. (Same goes for the Republican Party, but people are at least smart enough around here to not talk about 'reforming' it.)
