Could you put up a filter or something, so I don't have to yell and scream at you and call you a blithering idiot every time you demonstrate trust in what a politician tells you?
Alternately, I'll unsubscribe to spare you the abuse if you'd like.
I'd like to keep you around. I'll make a filter, although I think I prefer your objections to those of Fundamentalists and Libertarians.
(For the uninitiated, Libertarians are people who take a couple of values and apply them Talmud-style to every aspect of their lives. It's an arbitrary moral choice that proves exceptionally convenient for its adherents. The words "convenient" and "arbitrary" juxtaposed should be setting off red flags in your temporal lobe.)
I know that you're not suggesting that a nearly perfect social and anti-war* track record is a vast conspiracy to obtain a Senate seat. They each raised about $2 million, with Coakley gaining an edge by (illegally - slap on the wrist style) pulling funds from a different campaign.
I'll leave it there, restraining myself from making empty platitudes about the virtue of incremental change within a corrupt system.
*Well, unless you take exception to the earmarks for Massachusetts weapon manufacturers.

Elections are not won based on issues (other than issues of competing moneyed interests).
Policies are not determined based on politician's promises.

As such, criticizing fundamentalists would seem to be hypocritical.
