taranhero noted that I was negligent in posting updates, so now you'll have to tolerate my ramblings.

History is pretty cool.

Mt. Auburn Cemetery has a volunteer program for transcribing and preserving tombstones. You get to try to decipher the worn-down inscriptions on marble pieces, and the considerably better-preserved ones in granite, and write them down so they have a full record.

There are a lot of historical landmarks everywhere that aren't regularly open to the public but have a lot of interesting stories to tell. I know of a few in Charlton since my parents are on the Charlton Historical Society, and Charlton historian William Hultgren has written a couple books on Charlton history, but there's definitely a lot of history and information on local landmarks that for some reason I haven't figured out isn't yet Googleable.
