Sorry to hear about the accident. Does it have a monitor port? Could an external monitor get you by as a docked laptop?

Tell me more about this ... I don't know, myself, if it does or not. It's an HP Pavilion dv6000 and there is something on the side called an expansion port.

What did you say about docked? I don't have a docking station, but could I take a monitor and just plug it in to the laptop directly?

By the way, I cannot thank you enough for this comment. When M got home, I got him to put his big fancy monitor on my laptop for me, so I can still work in the meantime, without staring at the negative image crap lol.

Thanks :)

Congrats!

You'll have to let us know who your publisher is, once she approves your sample. (positive thinking here) :-)

WOHO! on the sample! one small step and all :)
I'm with Azteck, your laptop should allow you to use a normal monitor :)

Please keep us updated!

Do you have an editor? While I have edited a few dissertations, one thesis, and countless college papers, I have only one published novel under my belt.

Being independent sucks that way. :)

Anyway, if you are looking for an editor, and are interested in speaking about it further, please feel free to drop me a line.

The novel I edited was “Better than it Gets” by Paul Hillier. Paul asked me to write the jacket cover when it was originally going to be released as a hardcover, but when it went to paperback instead, his girlfriend overrode my submission with one of her own. While the girlfriend overrode content suggestions regularly, she rarely convinced him to discard my grammatical changes. The jacket cover “review” I wrote is now on Amazon.com under the name Bramble Talonshire.

Please feel free to read the book, it is quite inspiring.

I have a reader, yes. I'm really leery of letting anyone else see it, besides family, but I can always use good feedback (by that, I mean useful, not simply positive, lol). If you get time, email me via LJ with your email address, and make sure you can receive .doc attachments :) I'll send you an LJ reply back with my email addy so you'll know who it is when you see it.
