Writer's Block: Kindness of Strangers

Yes, if someone needed it and I were in a position to donate, absolutely!  Hopefully someone would do that for me if the roles were reversed.

I would donate bone marrow, definitely... but it would have to be a close family member that needed it for me to be willing to give up an organ that I might later need.

I honestly can't say I could. I don't know.
yikes.
i am so squemish it makes me almost cry to think of the pain and suffering of the person in need and then as a result, the effects on the donor.
for a family member or friend it seems like there is no question. I would do it in a second.
People can be virtual strangers in the sense they've never met in person, but still have enough of a friendship that I would donate.
I wouldn't put myself on a live donor registry (Is there such a thing?) So I am not sure how a person I'd never met or encountered would be an option, unless they somehow discovered I had some kind of weird blood type or super-woman marrow or somesuch.
Excellent question.
