Holy shit I can't believe this is a real commercial

No joke I saw this on one of the TV at the gym and was so slackjawed in horrified amazement I had to find it on youtube to prove it wasn't endorphins or something

Wow, that scares the bejesus out of me. The last thing we need is 'yellow people are evil' sentiment sweeping the nation (even more??).

Are you buying up US debt behind our backs Missy

/I'm watching you/

But yes although I kind of want to lol at just how ridiculous it is when the guy smugsmirks and laughs like some saturday morning villain (and everyone else follows suit) the fact that this reflects an actual fear enough people have to be exploited with this commercial is pretty damned scary.

They should be more afraid of us hispanics with our higher birth rates, anyways :/

Wait. What? Seriously? *Seriously*?

I think the only thing worse than this is the youtube comments.

That's like a law of youtube though. No matter how bad the video is, the comments are always worse.

I don't watch TV much, so I really haven't been exposed to crazy ads and junk beyond kinda hearing about them through the grapevine here and there. I'm really just amazed people can get away with airing this stuff on national channels (it was CNN, insanely enough).

Wow D: That's... You're right, the evil chuckle that gets echoed by the room is really creepy, and not for the reason that the ad is trying to make it out to be.

I think the clincher is the villainous music that plays just as all the students join in laughter. It's like, really, they're trying to pitch a bunch of college kids as some sinister 'other' out to screw the USA.

And bad as /that/ is, it's not like the people who believe this kind of stuff are likely to make a powerful distinction between Chinese Nationals and Chinese-Americans (Or any Asian, I suppose).
